Additionally, the city hosts a number of annual events, including the Sarasota Film Festival, the Sarasota Music Festival and the Children’s Book Festival. Overall, Sarasota is a great place to live for those who want to reside in a coastal city with a vibrant arts culture. Sarasota is a city located in Sarasota County on the southwestern coast of the U.S. state of Florida. The area is known for its beaches and year-round warm weather. The city of Sarasota is home to a large number of art galleries, restaurants, and shopping centers. There are also several beaches and parks located within the city limits. The most well-known park is Siesta Key Beach, which is often ranked as one of the top beaches in the country. The city’s population is around 53,000 people. Sarasota is located on the southwestern coast of Florida, approximately halfway between Tampa and Fort Myers. The city itself is located along a barrier island, which protects it from most large storms coming in from the Gulf of Mexico. As a result, Sarasota has a much milder climate than most other areas in Florida. However, there are still significant variations in temperature throughout the year. Overall, the city has warm weather year-round with temperatures rarely dropping below 60°F (15°C) or rising above 90°F (32°C).
