For a trip to Southwest Florida, I recommend trying to list at least one activity from each category to get the complete experience. Golfing, fishing and wildlife watching are among the most popular activities in the area, and for those who come to the beach, there are more options and you don’t know what to do. For a comprehensive view of the most interesting attractions, check out our list of activities in Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach. If you’re looking for more outdoor activities, the park also offers deep-bay fishing, fly fishing and light fishing. Love’s Key State Park is made up of four islands and is a great holiday destination any time of the year.

For most travelers, the best place to stay in Fort Myers is Fort Myers Beach on Estero Island. The Port of Sanibel Marina is a beautiful location perfect for sunbathing, especially as an alternative to the much busier beaches that make up some of Fort Myers’ attractions. Sanibel Island is one of the best places to visit in Fort Myers, Florida thanks to the bombing of beaches and wildlife sanctuaries. Outside of the main beach resort on Barrier Island are white sand beaches and some of Fort Myers’ top attractions for history buffs. Nature lovers should sneak up on the islands in the north to visit the Matanzas Pass Nature Reserve.

The 3,500-acre Wetland Sanctuary is 5 minutes from I-75 and well worth the effort. Six Mile Cypress Slough Conservation Area, also known as Six Mile Cypress Slough, is actually over 11 miles long.

This 60-acre park is one of the best free activities in Fort Myers Beach. You can walk a short walk along the boardwalk or choose a longer trail. There is no shortage of activities on offer. The park has several recreation centers, beaches, dog parks, boat ramps (if you bring your own), and swimming pools; and always pleasant beach parks such as Bonita and Bowditch (Bowditch). There are aviaries, museums, and hiking trails, so even those traveling with children will not find it difficult to find entertainment and educational activities.

There are also special guided beach walks, wood carving and other skills demonstrations, as well as archaeological tours of shell rocks. Inside, visitors can see art exhibitions, music series and guest lecturers. There are live animal demonstrations, and the museum provides daily shows on the natural history of southwest Florida.

One of the best things to do in Fort Myers is you see acres of botanical gardens, a laboratory, and the museum itself. Both houses are open to professional and independent visits, and some areas have been turned into museums filled with interesting objects related to the lives of these famous people and their families. Both of their winter estates have been renovated and are now a historic site with educational exhibits. Here you can explore a museum with a chronology of Edison and Ford innovations, as well as a gallery of the lives of each.

You can also travel back in time through the Edison Research Laboratory and both historic houses. Lush gardens and antique workshops make Edison and Ford’s winter estate one of the best places to visit when visiting Fort Myers. Edison & Ford Winter Estates, located on the banks of the Calusahatchee River in Fort Myers, is one of Florida’s finest museums, taking you to America at the turn of the century. It is replete with excellent recreational activities for the whole family, including a water park, cobbled paths and a playground. It is a great attraction for all types of activities such as kayaking, canoeing, kayaking and more. This is a pleasant walk along the one mile beach from the Fort Myers Beach pier area to Bowditch Point.

There are not only exhibits about the history of the island and the lighthouse, but also beautiful beaches, trails and piers, where we saw some interesting catches. If you only have time to do one thing on the island, it will be very interesting.

If these leisurely walks are too slow, this is the perfect solution. Located just 15 minutes south of the city center and connected by tram, this state park is a must-see for nature lovers. The park is the perfect place for a romantic getaway for couples traveling through Southwest Florida.

In Li County, the coastline and numerous islands provide many beaches for sunbathing, shelling or romantic sunset strolls. For most tourists, Cayo Costa Beach is the main attraction of the Barrier Islands. Cayo Costa Beach is located on a barrier island with nearly 10 miles of pristine beaches. It is not the easiest place to reach in Fort Myers Beach, but it is one of the reasons that makes it a true gem.
